About Us

Murawski Architecture Studio

We help people shape thoughtful, well-crafted spaces — with clarity, collaboration, and care at every stage. While our focus is on homes, our approach suits any project where quality, character, and everyday experience matter. From modest extensions to community spaces, we bring the same attention to design, detail, and the people who’ll use it. Good architecture should be both imaginative and practical. We guide you through the process with creative thinking, technical expertise, and steady support — from first ideas to final details.

Principal Architect & Founder

John Murawski BA(Hons), DipArch (Cons), RIBA

John Murawski is the founder and principal architect of Murawski Architecture Studio, an RIBA Chartered Practice established in 2021.  With over 20 years’ experience and a background in senior roles at leading architecture firms in Central London, John brings a deep understanding of residential design, from high-end and high-profile projects to carefully considered home refurbishments and extensions.

His focus today is on working directly with homeowners to deliver bespoke architectural solutions that reflect both the emotional and practical ambitions of each client.  Every project is a collaboration, and John’s hands-on approach means clients are closely involved in the design journey, often through informal workshops and co-design exercises.

John is a registered architect with the ARB and a Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).  His work is defined by clear communication, thoughtful detailing, and a calm, professional manner that helps take the stress out of what can be a complex process. The result is architecture that’s personal, purposeful, and built around real lives.

Our focus

Who We Work With

Murawski Architecture Studio specialises in domestic projects – extensions, refurbishments, and rationalising home layouts – tailored to the way people really live. Most of our work is in South London and the South East, but we’re always open to interesting projects further afield. We’ve advised on homes in Devon, developed a Stage 3 design for a church refurbishment in South Wales, and worked with a developer to convert a city centre retail unit into artist flats.

We also support local organisations with a community focus. We’ve worked with a local school to develop proposals for a new community hub, and separately collaborated with a neighbourhood group on an early-stage design for their own shared space.

We work closely with homeowners, small businesses, developers, community groups and fellow consultants. No matter the size or location of the project, we bring a personal, hands-on approach – listening carefully, refining ideas together, and helping bring each client’s vision to life through thoughtful, well-resolved design.

What we do

Our Services

Every home is different – and so is every client.  At Murawski Architecture Studio, our process is built around you:  your goals, your space, and your way of living.  We guide you through each step of your project with clarity and care, from initial ideas to a completed home you’ll love.

We follow the RIBA Plan of Work 2020 — a trusted industry framework — and adapt it to suit the unique needs of your project. This structured approach keeps things moving smoothly and helps everyone stay on the same page.

Whether you’re planning a small extension or a full refurbishment, we’ll bring creativity, professionalism, and technical rigour – keeping things clear, collaborative, and enjoyable along the way.

We can support your project from start to finish — or just for the stages you need.  Some clients engage us for concept and planning only, while others retain us all the way through to completion.  We’re happy to tailor our service to suit your goals, budget, and preferred level of involvement.
